Per the French Homeopathic Pharmacopeia, 60% alcohol content is needed for extraction solvency to reach full potential. Gibberellins are very important phytohormones which cannot be fully extracted unless they are macerated in high alcohol concentration of at least 60% because of their large molecular skeletal structure.
The unadulterated finished EPE includes: fresh embryonic plant tissue, along with the best organic vegetable glycerin from Red Palm trees – which is well known for its high content of naturally occurring vitamin E, tocotrienols (alpha, beta, gamma, delta), and the finest 60% organic grape alcohol. These extracts are full of energy; they maintain maximum vitality, and biological activities with unsurpassed effectiveness.
By not using high percentage alcohol, some manufacturers have been found to produce extracts containing large amounts of non-hydrosoluble tannins, which in time become very problematic for health concerns. Naturally, we wish that we could do away with the alcohol entirely, but we understand by using a high percentage alcohol, the extract produced is of far superior quality.
Most manufacturers of EPE harvest plants within a very short time frame (typically about two months); even though it may not be the optimal time for the individual plant species. As a result, the harvested embryonic plant tissues contain additional plant material such as the cataphylls (scales of the bud) and/or parts of the branch bark, including some non-embryonic parts of the plant. As a whole, these harvests contain too high a level of tannins. When tannins are found in too high an amount, they will prevent the absorption of many vitamins, minerals, and other phytochemicals contained within the total plant composition. The result is a weakened finished product that may require larger doses to reach the desired health benefits with possible cumulative toxic effects of non-soluble tannins.
The New York Times article “New York Attorney General Targets Supplements at Major Retailers” accused four major retailers, GNC, Target, Walgreens and Walmart of selling fraudulent herbal supplements. (http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/02/03/new-york-attorney-general-targets-supplements-at-major-retailers/?_r=1).Testing of several products concluded fillers such as wheat, rice, soy, and peanuts were found as being the only compounds found in these herbal products, while four out of five products contained absolutely no trace of the herb itself in the product. They demanded immediate removal of these products from their shelves. Harm has already been done as this type of consumer deception creates skepticism towards herbal supplements.

We go to great lengths to ensure that our EPE are safe and bioactive. They are 100% free of any toxic metals and other contaminants; they contain all of the phytochemicals and nutrients expected from a specific plant species. This process is expensive but necessary for quality and safety assurance. Many companies, due to the prohibitive cost involved in such rigorous testing’s, are not willing to spend the money required ensures responsible and effective products.
A paradigm shift is taking place with the focus towards medicinal embryonic phytotherapy (MEP™) superiority. We already have what we need, as nature has provided.
